Selenium-75 (Se-75)

Description

Selenium-75 (Se-75) emits gamma rays of high energy, so sealed sources with Se-75 can be successfully applied in gamma radiography. Selenium-75 has been particularly successful in replacing X-ray devices in some pipeline crawler applications. Se-75 is excellent for congested work sites since much smaller restricted areas are required.

Isotope JSC supplies Se-75 sources of the Russian design. They are bicapsular. The inner capsule made of titanium or vanadium contains Selenium-75. The outer capsule is made from stainless steel and has two modifications: with a shank and without it.
