The discussion of the use of nuclear technologies to solve the food problem has been held in THE IAEA
The scientific forum is held as part of each annual session of the IAEA General Assembly and it's dedicated to a particular aspect of nuclear technologies application.
A year ago within the framework of annual session the scientific forum was held and it was devoted to the role of nuclear technologies water industry. In the current year the scientific forum is devoted to the topic: « Food for the future: solving problems with nuclear applications». The availability of food and their safety are under threat. For example, by 2050 global production of safe and nutritious food products should increase by 70% to feed a growing world population.
