The First Party of Russian Co-60 Sealed Sources Arrived in Indonesia
In April 2015 JSC Isotope (a wholly owned subsidiary of Rosatom State Corporation responsible for supplies of isotope products to the international market) successfully supplied Co-60 sealed sources to the Indonesian company Rel-ion.
The sources were delivered by sea. Their way from Saint-Petersburg to Indonesia took 50 days.
Rel-ion is one of the biggest Indonesian companies that provides sterilisation and hygienic services. Rel-ion's primary activity is the gamma processing of medical devices, pharmaceutical containers, cosmetic raw materials, and aseptic food containers. Sterilization at gamma units is aimed at eliminating bacteria and other hazardous microorganisms. Gamma units work due to sealed radioactive sources, one of which is Co-60. FSUE "PA "MAYAK" is one of major Co-60 industrial sources producers in the world.
In the near future Rel-ion representatives are going to visit Moscow in order to discuss next steps of cooperation.
